Legacy in the Making – A Knowledge Infrastructural Perspective on Systems for Archeological Information Sharing

Abstract Archeological research depends on a complex infrastructure of information systems and services built different funding models. The enable innovative approaches progress in making, but each system also organizes by means the design, structures, relations established terminologies promoted. This article adopts knowledge infrastructural perspective used for sharing archeology. purpose is first to expand archeology second discuss potential impact disciplinary knowledge-making, shaping archeological information, legacy data. Based an analysis qualitative interviews ( N = 31) with archeologists from Europe United States, results show that interviewees use solutions developed within discipline as well general systems. One important task further better understand how choose their choices what they share. Also, specific topics or coverage appears be project outside more institutions.
